Program PhilosophyCentral Montessori School believes that a child’s innate drive to develop and learn is extraordinarily powerful. Children are naturally compelled to explore, discover, question, and make sense of the world around them. Learning is an essential part of childhood, and children will continually seek opportunities to grow and understand.
At the same time, we recognize that certain situations, experiences, and environments can hinder, frustrate, or diminish a child’s natural desire to learn. Our responsibility is to create an environment that removes unnecessary barriers and supports each child’s unique path of development. Central Montessori School is committed to providing a carefully prepared, nurturing, and supportive environment in which children are encouraged to develop independence, confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. Our goal is to ensure that every child has the opportunity, resources, and support needed to reach their full potential. “It is true that we cannot make a genius. Enhanced Program Options
Year Round Program
We offer a complete, seamless day of Montessori instruction from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Enrollment Options
We offer a complete, seamless day of Montessori instruction from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Infant Program for children three months to sixteen months
- Toddler Program for children sixteen months to three years of age
- Primary Program for children three to six years old (includes kindergarten)
- Lower Elementary Program for children six to nine years old (1st, 2nd, 3rd grade)
- Upper Elementary Program for children nine to eleven years old (4th, 5th, 6th grade)
- Middle School Program for children eleven to thirteen years old (6th, 7th, 8th)
Enrollment Options
- 12-month Year Round for all children-includes highly enriched summer programming
- 10-month: elementary and older only with holding fee

Sofia is a professionally trained vocalist who has been singing since before she could walk. She earned her Bachelor of Music from McGill University with a secondary major in Psychology. She recently moved to Richmond and has fallen in love with teaching her new community. She has experience with students from ages 4-55+ and believes in a student-led approach that fosters creativity, learning, and fun!

Matt Blanton is a classically trained guitarist and composer, a bassist, a percussionist, and a performer. He has studied music at both Shenandoah Conservatory and VCU. He has nearly 20 years of experience performing and teaching and is excited to be involved with the cultivation of the musical element at Central Montessori School.

Introducing Little Kicks, the FUN and EASY way to bring soccer into your child’s life! Richmond’s most popular mobile enrichment program is designed to develop Coordination, Confidence, Character and Elementary Soccer Techniques. The team atmosphere fosters Life Skills and socialization at a crucial developmental age. Little Kicks utilizes experienced, role-model coaches to deliver our Age-Appropriate Curriculum.
