History
Like the genesis of many Montessori schools, our story began with parents’ frustration as they searched for a high-quality educational program for their children. We recognized both the limited availability of quality educational choices and the reality that many of Richmond’s urban neighborhoods—including Church Hill, Fulton Hill, and surrounding communities—did not have access to the kinds of exceptional educational opportunities available in other parts of the Greater Richmond area.
Seeing a need for an excellent alternative, and specifically for a Montessori program, we opened our school on November 12, 2007. From the beginning, our goal was to provide children and families in these communities with an outstanding educational experience while becoming a meaningful and contributing member of the neighborhood.
We were amazed then—and remain deeply grateful today—by the tremendous goodwill, encouragement, and support we have received from Church Hill and the surrounding communities. That support has been an essential part of our journey and continues to inspire our commitment to providing a high-quality Montessori education to Richmond families.
