What’s Happening Right Now…

Venessa’s Primary:  The students have had a busy morning! A PI student works on the sand paper numerals for the first time “This feels rough. That is an empty set”. A PIII student works on painting the different layers of the ocean “The darkest zone is the Abyssal zone. I’m going to mix a little black in my blue paint.” A small group of students learn a song about animal habitats to the tune of, “Oh My Darling Clementine.” Two PII students work on a review lesson of the geometric solids.

Elementary and Middle School: The lower el students etch into paper the shapes of dragons, mandala designs, houses and dogs for their half hour drawing time. The upper el and middle school students are meeting to discuss their curriculum this summer. The smell of Taco Thursday fills the room and everyone is excited to try this week’s recipe with zucchini and squash from a student’s garden and other delicious ingredients from Tomten Farms thanks to Daily Soup contributions.

Amanda’s Primary:  During a group discussion the children are asked “What is Peace?” One student says “Caring about people” Another says, “Being kind”, a friend chimes in, “Helping people!” The symbol for peace is introduced and students take turns working in peaceful pairs making their own peace signs.

Infant:  Two infants sit on a blanket enjoying the bubble storm going on around them.   One small storm chaser crawls as fast as they can across the deck towing their equipment behind them (or dragging a playground pouf).  Once they’ve reached the right spot for their observations, the storm chaser sits down and lets the bubbles burst all around him.

Toddler: A toddler throws a ball across the playground and then runs off after it.  A lively game of fetch begins.   The child picks the ball back up, looks for the exact right spot, and throws it again.  “I’ll be right back!”  The child takes off running again but gets distracted by a different ball on the ground.   The child turns quickly and runs after the new ball.

Whoever made this activity is very wise. I think it enhances the creativity of the students. It also allows them to have a great time and have fun. The article is very useful in my study about school activities that is attractive to students to participate. I would say that this is something original and new to the eyes of the many.

Your website is really cool and this is a great inspiring article. Thank you so much.
